National Safety Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +9 more states.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement a thorough safety strategy that aligns with the company's goals, operational priorities, and growth plans.

• Cultivate a safety culture that emphasizes prevention, individual accountability, ongoing improvement, and employee involvement.

• Collaborate with senior leadership, regional operations managers, and General Managers to integrate safety into daily activities.

• Establish uniform safety standards, procedures, training, reporting, and expectations across all sites.

• Act as the main safety advisor to senior leadership, providing regular updates on safety performance, trends, risks, and initiatives for improvement.

• Oversee policies and procedures related to fleet safety for a fleet of over 1,000 vehicles.

• Create programs aimed at decreasing motor vehicle accidents, distracted driving, speeding, aggressive driving behaviors, and preventable incidents.

• Manage fleet safety technology initiatives, which include telematics, dash cameras, driver scoring systems, coaching programs, and corrective action processes.

• Ensure adherence to relevant OSHA, DOT, EPA, and local/state safety regulations.

• Develop standards pertaining to PPE, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, ladder safety, heat illness prevention, hazard communication, defensive driving, and jobsite safety practices.

• Lead and formulate policies concerning incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of progressive experience in safety leadership.

• Proven experience supporting a large, multi-location, geographically diverse workforce.

• Background in managing fleet safety programs.

• Track record of success in reducing accidents, injuries, and claims.

• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems.

• Experience in utilizing data analytics to identify trends and promote improvements.

• Excellent communication, training, influencing, and leadership abilities.
