
National Account Manager, Grocery-Pet Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +2 more states.
• Oversee the business plan for Smucker’s Pet division within designated regional grocery retailers.
• Achieve top-line sales and bottom-line profit objectives for assigned categories and/or clients.
• Establish and nurture relationships with essential customer contacts.
• Formulate strategies to promote brand and category advancement.
• Lead discussions regarding business planning, new product introductions, and significant initiatives.
• Persuade customers using data-driven presentations.
• Manage daily business operations, including item setup, maintenance, logistics, and inventory oversight.
• Implement customer programs with precise forecasting and compliance with audit requirements.
• Identify opportunities for growth in the retailer omni-channel marketplace and brand.
• Collaborate with the Director on identifying growth prospects.
• Evaluate sales and profit factors, merchandising strategies, promotional activities, and supply-chain potentials.
• Utilize syndicated and other data sources to manage trade strategies.
• Control trade budgets and ensure timely reporting.
• Project monthly and quarterly sales and relay information internally for production scheduling.
• Perform ad-hoc financial and data analyses, including pre and post-event evaluations.
• Work together on annual business planning, merchandising support, and trade management.
• Facilitate the business planning process with cross-functional teams.
• Enhance P&L metrics through promotion, expenditure, and volume assessments.
• Develop strategic partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Engage in designated industry, supply-chain, and other business initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Over 5 years of experience in CPG sales with hands-on management of national account headquarters.
• Familiarity with regional grocery accounts such as Wakefern, Giant Eagle, Market Basket, Weis, Wegmans, Tops, or Price Chopper.
• Proficient in working with syndicated data, including IRI or Nielsen/Circana.
• Capability to manage and prioritize a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Willingness to manage extended work hours as necessary.
• Ability to travel overnight up to 10 times a year.
• Commitment to follow company policies and procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced skills in Excel.
• Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of P&L financials.
• Experience with POS or card data.
• Background in the consumer packaged goods industry.
