This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Ensure prompt review of Xenon's products post-approval to facilitate rapid formulary adoption, enabling patient access comparable to that of branded products in the relevant categories where Xenon competes.
• Establish and nurture multiple connections at strategic payer accounts, including senior executives, to effectively communicate the Xenon payer value narrative.
• Navigate payer organizations to cultivate enduring relationships with key decision-makers and potential influencers, paving the way for the pipeline of innovative products from Xenon.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the intricate payer organizations and their various wholly owned subsidiaries that may influence the Epilepsy class. Monitor to identify long-term partnership opportunities.
• Utilize data and personal intelligence to prioritize top accounts.
• Achieve rapid access and coverage for all Xenon products, ensuring parity with key competitors in their respective classes.
• Formulate strategic business plans tailored to each account.
• Ensure appropriate coverage and formulary positioning aligns with Commercial goals, collaborating with Medical Affairs and Value and Access to effectively communicate the value proposition and HEOR data to target audiences.
• Assess contracting opportunities that align with Xenon's objectives. Lead the contract process from initiation through negotiation and completion. Manage ongoing contracts with quarterly business reviews and evaluate ROI.
• Analyze data (sales trends, competitive landscape by local market) to pinpoint pull-through opportunities. Collaborate with regional sales directors and sales representatives to address access challenges and maximize success through aligned pull-through plans.
• Assist with field training pertaining to access and reimbursement.
• Relay payer insights back to market access, medical affairs, and patient services as necessary.
• Represent Xenon at major industry conferences (e.g., AMCP, Asembia, PCMA).
• Develop and recommend both short- and long-term objectives for the function in alignment with overall company strategies and plans.
• Plan and oversee budget proposals and approved budgets in accordance with the company’s strategic, operational plans, and finance policies.
• Recruit, lead, direct, develop, coach, and evaluate direct reports, if applicable, in compliance with the company’s human resource policies and practices.
• Adhere to company policies, including the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, ensuring these policies are understood and followed by direct reports, if any.
• Some international travel may be necessary.
• Perform other assigned duties.
• A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is a plus.
• At least 10-12 years of market access experience in biotech pharmaceuticals, with a minimum of 5 years focused on national accounts.
• Extensive knowledge of payer/PBM economics, including a clear understanding of key issues and their evolution in the changing US healthcare landscape.
• Strong analytical understanding: the ability to apply analytical insights to enhance account performance and the capability to formulate pertinent questions for analytical resources.
