Multisite Energy Management System Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the establishment, configuration, and continuous supervision of Verizon cellular backhaul networks, encompassing account provisioning, performance monitoring, bandwidth optimization, and reduction of offline devices utilizing platforms like ThingSpace.

• Direct the specification, provisioning, deployment, security setup, and monitoring of InHand routers and in-home Wi-Fi networks, including the formulation of standardized processes for installation and commissioning.

• Collaborate with HVAC controls partners to enhance and implement frontend interfaces, mobile applications, Yardi integration, and automated vacant home reprogramming functionalities; assist in the testing, validation, and deployment of these enhancements.

• Coordinate with installation and maintenance partners to ensure EMS equipment is installed and serviced per specifications, offering technical training, remote and onsite support, troubleshooting of offline devices, and reprogramming assistance.

• Provide limited technical consulting support to customer IT teams regarding Yardi integration, alarm management, vacant home automation, and business intelligence/reporting solutions.

• Monitor the integrity and performance of communications infrastructure; employ diagnostic tools to detect and resolve network issues, interference, and data usage irregularities.

• Support the comprehensive execution of projects including the development, testing, and operation of the EMS technical solution.

• Identify and train customer and partner personnel on pertinent network management, controls, and monitoring applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Energy Systems, or a related STEM field.

• At least 4 years of experience in building energy management systems (EMS/BMS), IoT/cellular networking, HVAC controls, or a related technical field.

• Travel is required (frequent trips to military installations). (40%)

• Must be eligible for and capable of gaining access to U.S. military installations.

• Experience with cellular IoT networks, router provisioning (e.g., InHand or similar), Wi-Fi deployment, and device management platforms.

• Practical knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), HVAC controls, and integration with property management software such as Yardi.

• Familiarity with Verizon ThingSpace, MyBusiness, or comparable IoT management tools, including AI-driven rules, alerts, and analytics.

• Previous experience providing technical training and support to installation teams and customer stakeholders.

• Strong skills in project coordination with multiple vendors and partners.

• Working knowledge of network security protocols, RF diagnostics, and bandwidth management.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

• CEM or similar energy certification, networking certifications (e.g., CCNA), or BAS-specific training is a plus.

• Military/government project or DoD installation experience is highly desirable.
