MuleSoft Architect/Developer – Mainframe Transformation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute senior-level solution architecture and programming on the MuleSoft ESB platform for development, customization, and configuration.

• Assess proposed applications needing integrations and offer technical development support to staff and vendor technical teams.

• Coordinate or conduct research and analysis for work proposals, software and systems modifications, and new projects.

• Supervise analysis, designs, plans, diagrams, and verification processes for both existing and proposed applications.

• Provide technical counsel, support, and recommendations regarding programming operations, challenges, and production issues.

• Direct deployment and platform architecture to address business requirements.

• Steer platform integration with broader technology strategies, platforms, and tools.

• Contribute design insights into deployment and automation pipelines.

• Offer guidance on security, authentication, and governance.

• Align technology strategies and user needs with the MuleSoft product roadmap.

• Implement, configure, and establish best practices for the MuleSoft platform and knowledge transfer.

• Inform API strategy, platform strategy, and enablement plans based on business vision, project backlog, and consumer requirements.

• Identify and design reusable core system APIs and connectors.

• Manage reusable central assets and code snippets for error handling, logging, caching, and auto-discovery.

• Conduct expert evaluations of solution designs and implementations.

• Carry out performance tuning and debugging.

• Develop, test, document, deploy, and maintain MuleSoft service layer integration applications in the RRC technical environment.

• Create and sustain integrations linking Java, Salesforce, C# with .NET Core, Oracle, and GoAnywhere applications.

• Develop MuleSoft connectors and flows using Anypoint Studio, including synchronous/asynchronous messaging, streaming, and flow routing.

• Create processes, diagrams, and flowcharts that illustrate application operations and data flow.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in MuleSoft development, customization, configuration, and integration.

• Communicate and collaborate with technical resources, stakeholders, agency staff, and vendors regarding status, technical issues, and solutions.

• Assist with MuleSoft configuration tasks and implement enhancements and new functionalities in the RRC MuleSoft application.

• Provide support and solutions for break/fix issues.

• Ensure compliance with security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies and controls.

• Troubleshoot bugs, deliver technical support, and devise and implement solutions.

• Aid in the generation or installation of systems software.

• Prepare implementation instructions and procedures for software or system modifications and new products.

• Review the work of others or vendors and create technical documentation.

• May assign, assess, or oversee the work of others.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in developing and testing RESTful and SOAP Web Services within MuleSoft or other programming languages.

• 4+ years of hands-on implementation experience designing secure and scalable APIs using Anypoint Exchange, Anypoint Design Center, Anypoint API Manager, Anypoint Runtime Manager, Anypoint Studio, Data Gateway, and Access Management.

• 3+ years of practical experience with DataWeave 2.0 programming and creating applications in Mule 4 in CloudHub.

• 2+ years of excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences and develop accurate documentation.

• 2+ years of experience working in dynamic, fast-paced environments, successfully meeting deliverables and deadlines, exercising sound judgment, analyzing complex information, and developing plans.

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with MuleSoft CloudHub and Anypoint Platform as an ESB and deployment point.

• Knowledge of MuleSoft architecture and API development.

• Experience with coding and integration development best practices throughout the deployment cycle and sandbox environments.

• Familiarity with COBOL, Java, Salesforce, C# with .NET Core, Oracle, Snowflake, GoAnywhere, and JavaScript frameworks is preferred.

• Knowledge and experience in using Database, File, and Sockets Connectors; other connectors such as Salesforce, Amazon S3, and Snowflake are highly desired.

• Experience with advanced synchronous and asynchronous messaging, streaming, and flow routing.

• Understanding of microservices, MVC programming patterns, and SOLID programming principles.

• Experience with file- or stream-based request/response processing and JSON, XML, HTML, RAML, and WSDL.

• Experience with RDBMS technologies, including Oracle and MS-SQL, relational database schema design, NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, and Snowflake.

• Ability to lead technical requirements gathering and design, build, and optimize technical systems.

• Experience with OAuth 2, SAML, OIDC, identity authorization and management, tokenization, secure services and SOAs, or IDaaS integrations.

• Expertise in developing integration patterns in an enterprise environment involving Java, Salesforce, C# with .NET Core, Oracle, and GoAnywhere.

• Experience leading MuleSoft technical teams, providing coaching, and mentoring.

• Expertise in defining non-functional requirements including SLAs and optimizing system performance.

• Experience in data-centric projects, such as transitioning from legacy to newer systems.

• Direct experience in creating microservice APIs for Salesforce or Snowflake integrations.

• Current MuleSoft certification is preferred, such as MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect – Level 1 or MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect.

• Experience with the complete API development lifecycle across multiple large-scale MuleSoft implementations.

• Experience working with or overseeing a MuleSoft Center for Enablement.

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in data processing, computer science, business administration, or a related field is preferred.

• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal/external stakeholders and team members.
