
MSP Procurement and SaaS Licensing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee license usage throughout the organization to detect "shelfware" (software that is not in use).
• Serve as the main liaison for vendors (such as Microsoft, AWS, Cisco).
• Negotiate bulk discounts, tiered pricing structures, and advantageous Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Perform regular internal audits to verify that all software usage aligns with legal license entitlements, thereby avoiding substantial "true-up" penalties.
• Utilize SaaS Management Platforms (SMPs) to streamline onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring licenses are promptly reclaimed when an employee departs.
• Act as a conduit between Finance (budget management), IT/Security (evaluating tools for compliance), and Operations (ensuring availability of appropriate tools).
• Expertise in tools such as BetterCloud, Torii, or Zylo.
• Capability to compute Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and conduct cost-benefit analyses.
• Comprehensive knowledge of EULAs (End User License Agreements), data privacy regulations (GDPR/CCPA), and renewal provisions.
• Proficient in advanced Excel or Business Intelligence tools to analyze spending patterns and project future licensing requirements.
• Skill in negotiating with vendors to secure improved margins for the Managed Service Provider (MSP).
• Ability to monitor expiration dates for a wide array of licenses concurrently.
• Insight to anticipate how technological advancements (like AI integration) will impact license costs in the next 12 to 24 months.
