This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +4 more states.
• Lead the Caplyta Central regional Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team in delivering scientific, clinical, research, and educational support to healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the MSL Head to establish regional strategies, priorities, measurable objectives, and execution plans.
• Conduct regular strategy assessments with MSL direct reports utilizing data, insights, AI tools, and performance trends.
• Mentor, support, develop, and evaluate MSL direct reports in areas such as scientific expertise, presentation abilities, stakeholder influence, communication, and scientific storytelling.
• Implement field Medical Affairs initiatives, including product launches, proactive strategies, and engagement with healthcare professionals.
• Ensure the collection, analysis, and dissemination of actionable Medical Insights to guide strategy, evidence generation, and lifecycle planning.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Scientific Affairs, and cross-functional partners to align objectives and execution efforts.
• Propose solutions to the MSL Head utilizing critical thinking, risk assessment, and sound judgment.
• Oversee regulatory and healthcare compliance, ethical decision-making, accountability, and integrity across the team.
• Manage regional team performance through field visits, one-on-ones, coaching, feedback, training, development, capacity planning, metrics, and dashboards.
• Ensure MSL territory plans are strategic, up-to-date, and actionable.
• Recruit, retain, and cultivate a diverse, high-performing team, including succession planning and career development.
• Complete administrative tasks such as expense approvals, metric reports, compliance documentation, and operational reporting.
• Lead cross-functional scientific projects, programs, business planning, proactive initiatives, and company initiatives.
• Convert field intelligence into strategic recommendations and formulate field scientific strategies that align with medical priorities and lifecycle requirements.
• Travel regionally approximately 60%, including overnight stays and attendance at periodic national scientific congresses and corporate meetings.
• A master’s degree is required.
• PharmD, PhD, or MD is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience is required.
• At least 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as an MSL is required.
• Previous experience in people management is required.
• Clinical/research experience is preferred.
• Experience in a therapeutic area is preferred.
• Proficiency in data gathering and analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, interpersonal influence, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape analysis.
• Must reside in the assigned region and be in close proximity to an airport.
• Ability to travel regionally approximately 60%, including overnight travel, national scientific congresses, and strategic/scientific meetings.
• A valid US driver’s license is required.
