This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +4 more states.
• Lead the Caplyta regional Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team in delivering scientific, clinical, research, and educational support to healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the MSL Head to establish and implement regional strategy, translating Medical Affairs objectives into clear priorities and actionable execution.
• Conduct regular strategy evaluations with MSL direct reports utilizing data, insights, AI tools, and performance trends.
• Mentor, assist, and nurture MSL direct reports through constructive feedback, field observations, skills frameworks, and career development planning.
• Implement field Medical Affairs programs, which include product launches, proactive initiatives, and healthcare professional engagement.
• Ensure that direct reports exhibit scientific expertise, strong presentation skills, professional credibility, stakeholder influence, adaptive communication, and effective scientific storytelling.
• Identify and eliminate obstacles while aligning field activities to foster impactful scientific engagement.
• Guarantee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of actionable Medical Insights to guide strategy, evidence generation, and lifecycle planning.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Scientific Affairs, and cross-functional partners.
• Provide recommendations to the MSL Head utilizing critical thinking, risk assessment, and sound judgment.
• Oversee regulatory and healthcare compliance activities and promote ethical decision-making and accountability.
• Manage the performance of the regional MSL team through field visits, one-on-one meetings, coaching, feedback, training, development, and performance monitoring.
• Ensure that territory plans are strategic, relevant, and actionable.
• Recruit, retain, and cultivate a diverse, high-performing team, including succession planning and career development.
• Complete administrative tasks such as expense approvals, team performance reports, compliance documentation, and operational reporting.
• Share team accomplishments, insights, and impact with internal partners and leadership.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, business planning, scientific projects, proactive initiatives, and corporate initiatives.
• Develop field scientific strategies that align with therapeutic-area priorities and lifecycle requirements.
• Create scalable processes that improve alignment, efficiency, compliance, and cross-functional execution.
• A minimum of a master’s degree is essential.
• A PharmD, PhD, or MD is highly preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience is required.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is necessary.
• At least 2 years of MSL experience is required.
• Prior experience in people management is necessary.
• Clinical or research experience is preferred.
• Experience in a therapeutic area is preferred.
• Proficiency in data collection and analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, interpersonal influence, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape analysis is required.
• Must reside in the assigned region and be close to an airport.
• Ability to travel regionally approximately 60%, including overnight stays, periodic attendance at national scientific congresses, and key strategic/scientific meetings at corporate offices in Horsham, Pennsylvania and Titusville, New Jersey.
• A valid US driver’s license is required.
• Demonstrated commitment to exploring, iterating, and applying emerging technologies such as AI over time.
• Experience in enhancing team AI literacy and confidence while promoting responsible AI usage and sound judgment.
