This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Review and verify all components of mortgage loans, including borrower documentation, financial data, and property appraisals.
• Ensure that all data points and documents within the loan package are precise, complete, and consistent with the outputs from the Automated Underwriting System (AUS).
• Perform comprehensive calculations and validations to guarantee the integrity and dependability of the loan package.
• Assemble mortgage loan packages with utmost accuracy to fulfill capital market buyer requirements.
• Proactively identify and manage potential discrepancies to prevent investor objections or rejections.
• Confirm that loan conditions are met and that documentation is sufficiently robust to withstand scrutiny from investors or reviewers.
• Detect and address credit issues to minimize risks, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Deliver error-free loans, apart from allowable compliance deviations, to maintain investor trust and confidence.
• Keep detailed documentation for each underwriting decision, creating a clear audit trail.
• Collaborate closely with expeditors, loan officers, and other stakeholders to gather any missing documents and resolve inconsistencies.
• Clearly communicate underwriting requirements and conditions to ensure alignment among all parties regarding expectations.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on completed loan packages to uphold a standard of 100% error-free submissions.
• Stay informed about industry guidelines, investor requirements, and regulatory changes to maintain best practices.
• Suggest and implement enhancements to streamline processes and boost efficiency.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mortgage loan underwriting (conventional, FHA/VA, non-QM) for US consumers.
• Familiarity with TRID guidelines, as well as agency and investor guidelines (Fannie/Freddie/HUD/VA).
• A strong understanding of the mortgage life cycle from start to finish is highly preferred.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
• High proficiency, speed, and accuracy in written communication.
• Fluent, clear, and articulate English skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, along with effective time management abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets.
• Experience with customer information tools (e.g., Retool), task management software, and Google Drive.
• Detail-oriented, as accuracy is crucial in the financial services sector.
• Bachelor's Degree in marketing, finance, economics, or related disciplines.
• Availability to work during US Pacific time from 10 AM to 7 PM (with a 1-hour break).
• Candidates must reside in the Philippines.
