Mortgage Representative – Inside Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Receive referrals from realtors, builders, branches, and/or developers that have established relationships with M&T.

• Follow up with potential customers through telephone, fax, and email communications.

• Promote M&T Mortgage for mortgage financing to inbound customers.

• Address initial inquiries and provide explanations of M&T products.

• Pre-qualify customers for mortgage options.

• Originate mortgages and manage settlement coordination.

• Initiate mortgage applications in person or via phone and send packages to customers for their completion.

• Input completed applications into the system.

• Gather and assess financial and credit information to evaluate loan risk levels.

• Collect closing conditions and arrange for appraisals.

• Coordinate draw schedules and organize closing appointments.

• Negotiate loan terms and conditions with borrowers.

• Provide prompt and comprehensive feedback to referral sources on lead outcomes.

• Stay updated on changes in rules and regulations.

• Work under general supervision while interacting with customers, builders, manufacturers, and realtors.

• Establish and uphold federal registration requirements as mandated by the SAFE Act.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in mortgage origination and/or customer service.

• Alternatively, a combined total of 4 years of higher education and/or work experience, which includes a minimum of 2 years in mortgage origination and/or customer service, may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Responsibility for establishing and maintaining federal registration requirements as per the SAFE Act.

• General knowledge of PCs and departmental software.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Sales proficiency.

• Mathematical aptitude.

• Capability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Familiarity with products and government regulations.
