This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Serve as the main point of contact and intermediary between clients, the Branch Manager, Sales Manager, and designated Loan Originators.
• Process applications via phone and organize appointments.
• Facilitate weekly pipeline meetings with Loan Originators and processing teams to ensure proper file tracking.
• Submit complete loan applications after verifying all checklist items.
• Monitor requested documents in Encompass and assess received documentation within 24 hours for any discrepancies, missing data, income calculations, asset verification, and file updates.
• Reach out to customers and realtors within 24 hours of receiving loan files and provide weekly updates on status.
• Immediately inform Loan Originators when discrepancies in documentation are identified.
• Address inquiries from customers and transaction parties promptly.
• Execute Automated Underwriting and confirm that results align with the Encompass file.
• Request FHA and VA case numbers, title commitments, appraisals, and flood insurance.
• Adhere to loan contract deadlines and rate-lock expiration dates.
• Collaborate with Loan Originators to resolve issues related to files and documents.
• Ensure that files are complete and organized in accordance with WMC policies and procedures.
• Participate in branch and team meetings.
• Maintain ongoing client communication and provide up-to-date status information throughout the loan process.
• Manage a pipeline of 15 or more files and/or assist two or more Loan Originators.
• Analyze approved mortgage loans and fulfill pre-closing conditions, including PMI, title, hazard insurance, flood determinations, and underwriting conditions.
• Promptly notify borrowers when additional documentation or information is necessary and communicate 48-hour deadlines.
• Set reminders for loan commitment and closing dates.
• Verify the accuracy and consistency of files to ensure closing documents comply with investor and product guidelines.
• Collaborate with Loan Processors to prepare files for closing.
• Address closing-requirement inquiries from staff, vendors, and investors.
• Coordinate the closing time, date, and location with title companies, Realtors, Loan Originators, and borrowers.
• Develop, execute, and manage annual review calls with clients.
• Complete assigned tasks and required regulatory/compliance training.
• Provide assistance to WMC employees and departments as needed.
• High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
• A minimum of five years of experience in conventional fixed, ARM, HELOC, and construction mortgage loan processing is required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of VA and FHA mortgage products is essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office is required.
• Previous experience with Encompass LOS or similar mortgage processing software is necessary.
• Federal registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) is required.
• Experience with DU, LP, and other automated underwriting engine submissions is preferred.
• Familiarity with current state mortgage lending laws is essential.
• Ability to maintain a pipeline of 15 or more files and/or support two or more Loan Originators is necessary.
• Must be capable of working under pressure.
• Excellent organizational skills are required.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality concerning customer accounts and other sensitive information.
• Must not engage in loan origination during employment with WMC.
• Must refrain from taking residential mortgage loan applications, offering or negotiating residential mortgage loan terms for compensation, or advertising loan origination services.
• Ability to fulfill required regulatory and compliance certification and training is necessary.
