This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Act as the main point of contact and liaison between clients and the Branch Manager/Loan Originator.
• Function as the primary operational collaborator for a dedicated Loan Originator, assisting in managing the business from application through to closing.
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of VA lending guidelines to structure and facilitate VA loan transactions.
• Review, structure, and submit comprehensive loan applications, assessing income, assets, credit, and cash flow to prepare high-quality preapprovals.
• As a member of the sales team, this role involves requesting and obtaining referrals from all WMC clients, both current and prospective, as well as from sales partners.
• Collaborate closely with the Loan Originator and Loan Processor to proactively oversee the loan pipeline from application to closing, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are consistently met.
• Responsible for submitting complete loan applications for every customer file.
• Prepare precise preapprovals, quote interest rates, and lock loans in accordance with company guidelines.
• Monitor all requested documents within Encompass.
• Review received documentation within 24 hours to identify discrepancies, missing data, verify income calculations, asset verification, and update Encompass based on confirmed information.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries and other related parties regarding transactions as needed.
• Execute Automated Underwriting (DU/LP), analyze findings, identify necessary documentation, and ensure that loan data accurately reflects underwriting results.
• Order Title Commitments, Appraisal, and Flood Insurance for the file.
• Ensure compliance with deadline dates on loan contracts and rate lock expiration dates.
• Confirm that files are complete and organized according to WMC policies and procedures.
• Manage the entire pipeline for a dedicated Loan Originator, ensuring an outstanding borrower experience from application through to closing.
• Review approved mortgage loans to identify conditions that must be satisfied prior to closing.
• A high school diploma or a general education degree (GED) is mandatory.
• A minimum of four years of experience in a Loan Partner, Loan Processing, or Mortgage Underwriting role is preferred.
• Prior experience with VA home loans is essential.
• Experience in reviewing and structuring loan files, preparing preapprovals, and managing loans from application through closing is highly preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
• Previous experience with the Encompass LOS system or other mortgage processing software is necessary.
• A federal registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) is required.
