This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Initiates and finalizes mortgage loan applications, forwards loan files to processing, and delivers exceptional customer service to our clients.
• Develops and executes a thorough business strategy aimed at boosting sales and fostering relationships with referral partners.
• Conducts loan applications via telephone, mail, and in-person meetings with clients, and authorizes loan disclosures for client distribution.
• Evaluates the appropriate program placement for loan files (such as FHA, VA, Conventional, USDA, etc.).
• Determines loan pricing and locks rates according to company policies.
• Reviews submitted applications and documentation for thoroughness, accuracy, and compliance.
• Runs Automated Underwriting System (AUS) checks and examines findings and required documentation.
• Prepares requested Pre-Qualifications in accordance with company policies.
• Orders credit reports, appraisals, and title requests as necessary.
• Engages in regular follow-ups with clients and referral sources.
• Maintains consistent communication with applicants throughout the processing phase, addressing any inquiries and informing them of additional information needed.
• Submits loan files within designated turnaround times and collaborates with the assigned Processor.
• Oversees a pipeline of all loans in progress, monitors their status, and adheres to all contractual deadlines.
• Supports all parties involved, including the Processor, throughout the entire loan process.
• Achieves or surpasses the minimum production standards.
• Participates in all settlements when feasible.
• Completes an annual Business Plan and meets regularly with the Sales Manager.
• Stays updated on trends and developments in the local real estate market and competitive landscape, as well as changes in regulations related to private and government-insured mortgages.
• Upholds a professional image and standards in alignment with company policies and procedures.
• At least 2 years of experience as a loan officer, or an equivalent background deemed acceptable by the Sales Manager or Branch Manager.
• NMLS registration is mandatory.
• Demonstrated capability to read, write, and communicate effectively at a level appropriate for this position, while independently generating leads for new business and engaging professionally with current and former clients.
