Mortgage Loan Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Generate and oversee purchase mortgage loans from the application stage to closing while ensuring adherence to all compliance requirements.

• Transform company-sourced purchase opportunities into funded loans through proactive follow-ups and effective consultations with borrowers.

• Cultivate strong relationships with clients and, when applicable, with Zillow Preferred Agents and local collaborators.

• Handle an active pipeline while achieving established service levels, productivity metrics, and funding goals.

• Utilize Zillow’s CRM, loan origination systems (LOS), and data-driven tools to maintain pipeline health and enhance customer engagement.

• Collaborate with centralized processing, underwriting, and closing teams to facilitate efficient loan transactions.

• Provide a consistent, high-quality customer experience through communication via phone, email, and text.

• Keep updated on market trends, lending programs, and regulatory standards to offer customized financing solutions.

• Maintain active licensing, fulfill educational requirements, and engage in ongoing professional development.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage origination with a strong focus on purchase transactions, either as an active NMLS Loan Originator with state licenses or as a Loan Originator under a federal bank license.

• Completion of the 20-hour CORE Pre-Licensing Education and successful completion of the SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator Test – National Component with Uniform State Content.

• Demonstrated success in originating purchase loans in either a high-volume, phone-based sales environment or an agent-centric referral model.

• Strong client service orientation paired with consultative sales skills and a comprehensive understanding of the mortgage process.

• Comfort working in a structured, performance-oriented environment with clearly defined KPIs.

• Exceptional verbal communication skills and the ability to build trust rapidly.

• Strong time management, organizational, and pipeline management abilities.

• Proficient in CRM, LOS, and Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel).
