Mortgage Loan Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Responsible for selling and originating residential mortgage loans.

• Processes residential mortgage loan applications.

• Assists customers throughout the mortgage application process.

• Provides explanations of required information and other aspects of the loan process to customers.

• Ensures that applications are filled out correctly.

• Manages customer expectations concerning processing times and closing dates.

• Collaborates with sales management to develop plans for achieving sales targets.

• Inputs data into the mortgage loan system.

• Communicates loan decisions directly to customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or relevant progressive work experience.

• More than 2 years of experience in mortgage origination.

• Demonstrated sales proficiency.

• Developing understanding of the mortgage industry, products, lending practices, and regulatory guidelines.

• Self-motivated with the ability to plan personal activities to meet sales objectives.

• Strong time management capabilities.

• Proficient in PC skills, including the ability to learn mortgage origination and automated underwriting systems.

• Must qualify for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS.

• Positive results on a criminal background check and a credit report check.
