Mortgage Loan Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Responsible for selling and originating residential mortgage loans to meet sales objectives.

• Processes residential mortgage loan applications and negotiates or offers terms on those loans.

• Engages with potential clients identified directly or referred by realtors, developers, attorneys, and other sources, both external and internal.

• Provides explanations on a variety of mortgage products and services available, making recommendations tailored to the individual needs of prospects.

• Assists customers throughout the mortgage application process.

• Clarifies the information required and other elements of the loan process to customers.

• Ensures that applications are accurately completed and include all necessary information and supporting documents.

• Manages customer expectations concerning processing times and closing dates.

• Sells and originates residential mortgage loans in compliance with established policies, procedures, and relevant legal and regulatory standards.

• Communicates loan decisions directly to customers, detailing any additional information that may be required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or relevant progressive work experience, in addition to the experience listed below.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage origination.

• Demonstrated sales proficiency.

• Developing understanding of the mortgage industry, including products, lending practices, and regulatory guidelines.

• Maintains exceptional sales ability and negotiation skills.

• Self-motivated, with the capability to organize personal activities to achieve sales targets.

• Strong time management abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in PC usage, with the ability to learn mortgage origination and automated underwriting systems.
