
Mortgage Banker – Outside Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Accountable for initiating and concluding mortgage loan sales efforts.
• Maintain a current Ameris Bank-sponsored Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) number in accordance with the federal S.A.F.E Act regulations.
• Build and sustain client relationships with real estate agents, builders, developers, branches, and other referral partners consistently.
• Reach out to potential or existing clients in person or via phone to foster new business opportunities or maintain current business relationships.
• Advise customers on all available products they qualify for, ensuring the selected product aligns with their financial requirements without directing them to any specific option.
• Assist clients in completing loan applications, clarify required initial documentation and disclosures in line with set timelines, and submit applications within stipulated deadlines.
• Supervise the loan process by tracking loan status and ensuring adherence to terms.
• Liaise with loan processors regarding workflow coordination and assist in gathering additional documentation while communicating loan status to all involved parties promptly.
• Comply with established minimum fees and product pricing frameworks.
• Engage in networking through industry-related events, professional, business, and community organizations to promote and market loan products on a monthly basis.
• Attend all mortgage closing transactions for purchase loans on behalf of Ameris Bank Mortgage as necessary.
• Regularly inform the branch manager about sales call activities.
• Meet consistently with loan processors to assess the accuracy and status of the pipeline report.
• Collaborate with branch managers and other sales team members to facilitate cross-selling opportunities and other initiatives for the bank.
• Stay updated on all Ameris Bank Mortgage loan programs and comply with all regulatory and compliance standards.
• Achieve and surpass the minimum production benchmarks outlined in the compensation agreement.
• Attend all mandatory meetings.
• Complete all necessary training.
• Follow the work schedule as established by the manager.
• Uphold ethical sales practices in line with Ameris' core principles of Integrity and Honesty, always prioritizing the customer’s best interests when offering additional products and services.
• Proficient in utilizing mortgage origination applications.
• Effective use of a contact management system.
• Comprehensive understanding of mortgage products/servicing, operations, and current market trends.
• Demonstrated mortgage production of $5 million within the last year.
• Proven ability to establish referral relationships successfully.
• At least 1 year of experience in the mortgage industry.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service.
• High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
