Monitoring Analyst – Junior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee the availability and performance of network assets, links, and services.

• Monitor alarms, events, dashboards, and metrics using Zabbix and Grafana.

• Conduct initial incident triage, assessing impact, priority, and required information.

• Perform fundamental diagnostics for connectivity, infrastructure, and services.

• Assist in configuring hosts, templates, items, triggers, discovery rules, and maps in Zabbix.

• Aid in the creation and modification of dashboards and alerts within Grafana.

• Verify basic collection failures via SNMP, ICMP, agents, and APIs.

• Log and track tickets, ensuring clear and comprehensive information is maintained.

• Escalate issues to internal teams, clients, carriers, and vendors in accordance with escalation procedures.

• Monitor incidents to ensure compliance with SLAs.

• Identify recurring alarms and areas for improvement.

• Update procedures, documentation, and knowledge bases as necessary.

• Conduct shift handovers to ensure continuity for ongoing issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fundamental or practical understanding of Zabbix.

• Familiarity with hosts, templates, items, triggers, discovery, and maps.

• Knowledge of Grafana for reading, analyzing, and making basic adjustments to dashboards.

• Understanding of SNMP, ICMP, and various monitoring techniques.

• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, IP addressing, DNS, VLANs, latency, packet loss, and availability.

• Ability to interpret graphs, metrics, alerts, and trends effectively.

• Familiarity with tools such as ping, traceroute, MTR, nslookup/dig, and SSH/Telnet.

• Basic Linux knowledge and a willingness to enhance skills in server and infrastructure management.

• Understanding of incident management, escalation processes, and SLAs.

• Strong communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, and availability to work shifts.

• Previous professional experience is preferred but not mandatory.

• Courses, labs, and academic or personal projects showcasing familiarity with Zabbix, Grafana, and networking are appreciated.
