This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Perform on-site inspections of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated territory.
• Identify, start, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles located on dealer client lots.
• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and available options.
• Assess and document both the exterior and interior condition of vehicles.
• Carry out basic mechanical evaluations covering powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
• Detect and record any damages, missing parts, or non-functional features.
• Establish trust and foster relationships with dealer clients.
• Provide education on Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.
• Interact with dealers to boost inspection volume and engagement.
• Leverage data, insights, and partner feedback to enhance inspection efficiency and productivity in the territory.
• Adjust to changes in appointments and schedules as necessary.
• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.
• Utilize Salesforce.com for reporting, managing leads, and tracking customer performance.
• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other teams at Manheim.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements and Lean process optimization.
• Maintain production standards and adhere to safety and health protocols.
• Engage in Safety Excellence initiatives.
• Comply with Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.
• At the senior level, conduct advanced inspections, mentor colleagues, assist with onboarding, and act as a subject matter expert.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned.
• A High School Diploma or GED is required for Level 1.
• Level 2 requires a High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of relevant experience, or any degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Senior Level requires a High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of relevant experience, or any degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.
• Basic automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.
• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.
• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.
• Previous vehicle inspection experience is required for Senior Level.
• Strong knowledge of automotive (both body and mechanical) is required for Senior Level.
• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.
• 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
• Must be able to meet the physical and mental demands of the role within specified timeframes.
• Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and resolve issues effectively.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship is permitted now or in the future.
