This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Carry out a comprehensive inspection of vehicles.
• Safely locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on the dealer/clients’ lot.
• Confirm vehicle identification and accurately input vehicle details into the inspection system to ensure the correct VIN, mileage, and sub-series.
• Examine vehicle equipment and options, documenting findings including any damage, missing, or inoperable items.
• Assess and record the exterior condition of the vehicle, including but not limited to tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components.
• Evaluate and document the interior condition of the vehicle, including but not limited to seats, dashboard, and features.
• Conduct basic mechanical assessments on vehicles, including powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.
• Prepare and submit daily activity reports for management review.
• Cultivate a strong understanding of clients in the territory and collaborate with partners to engage clients actively with Manheim mobile inspections through consistent, proactive on-lot interaction.
• Act as a brand ambassador for Cox Automotive, delivering an exceptional client experience by regularly interfacing with core clients to ensure their satisfaction.
• A High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of experience in a relevant field.
• Alternatively, the ideal candidate may possess any level of degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED, or have 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Preferred automotive knowledge, both body and mechanical.
• 1-2 years of experience in any automotive-related role is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record are required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• A solid technical aptitude is necessary.
• Attention to detail is crucial.
• Experience in using handheld and other documentation devices is preferred.
• Self-motivated to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of body, paint, and mechanical repairs is advantageous.
• Familiarity with unibody and full-frame structures is beneficial.
• Capability to lift and hold at least 30 lbs. at waist level for prolonged periods is required.
