ML/AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement AI-driven product features within Canals' primary workflows.

• Create and sustain LLM-based systems, including agents, retrieval pipelines (RAG), and automated workflows.

• Construct machine learning models for operational applications such as classification, forecasting, anomaly detection, and recommendation systems.

• Manage the entire lifecycle of ML systems: data pipelines, experimentation, training, evaluation, deployment, and production monitoring.

• Collaborate closely with product, operations, and customer teams to uncover impactful AI opportunities.

• Enhance the scalability, reliability, and performance of AI infrastructure and inference systems.

• Set best practices for prompt engineering, model evaluation, observability, and cost optimization.

• Partner with backend engineers to seamlessly integrate AI systems into product workflows.

• Contribute to shaping Canals' long-term AI strategy as we advance automation across the platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on machine learning or applied AI.

• Solid backend engineering principles and experience in constructing scalable production systems.

• Practical experience in deploying ML or LLM-driven products to production.

• Proficient in Python and contemporary ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.

• Familiarity with LLM APIs and tools (OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar).

• Knowledge of vector databases, retrieval systems, and AI orchestration frameworks.

• Experience in designing evaluation frameworks for AI quality, reliability, and performance.

• Strong understanding of API design, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.

• Capability to work independently, act swiftly, and take ownership in a product-focused environment.

• Strong product intuition and the ability to convert ambiguous business challenges into technical solutions.
