This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Propose, design, integrate, and deliver mission-critical software systems for classified, contested, and disconnected environments.
• Architect and implement comprehensive mission software solutions across cloud, edge, and on-premises environments for DoD clients, from initial concept through Authority to Operate (ATO).
• Act as the technical authority for solution design across cloud, edge, and on-premises settings.
• Collaborate with Business Development, the CTO organization, and program leadership to identify opportunities, respond to proposals, and expand the mission software pipeline.
• Establish and advocate for AI-assisted DevSecOps, automated CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Agile delivery, and contemporary engineering practices.
• Utilize AI and machine learning to expedite software delivery, enhance decision-making support, and address operational challenges for warfighters.
• Set technical standards and guide mission software strategies within GDIT's Defense portfolio.
• Work alongside systems engineering, cybersecurity, and DevSecOps teams to deliver ATO-ready mission software.
• Convey complex architectures to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• Over 3 years of experience utilizing AI in software development.
• A Secret clearance is necessary to begin.
• Must be capable of obtaining and retaining Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• US citizenship is mandatory.
• Experience in architecting large-scale software systems.
• Familiarity with the Modular Open Systems Approach.
• Proficient in full-stack software development.
• Experience in drafting DoD proposals and whitepapers.
• Knowledge in Agile DevSecOps with automated CI/CD.
• Experience with AI-assisted DevSecOps.
• Proficiency in cloud architecture.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code.
• Understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering is ideal.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in software architecture across microservices, event-driven systems, and modular monoliths.
• A mission-focused mindset with strong operational empathy.
• Capability to communicate complex architectures to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to operate amidst ambiguity and in high-consequence environments.
• Willingness to travel 25% CONUS or more, as dictated by customer and project needs.
• Familiarity with technologies including Python 3.12+, Django, PostgreSQL, Redis 7, Keycloak 24, OPA, Celery, React 18+, Vite, Material-UI, TanStack Query, React Router v6, Reactflow, Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, Nginx Reverse Proxy, and Mailpit.
