This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.
• Create an annual personal growth plan that promotes spiritual growth through solitude, retreats, reflection, prayer, and a deeper understanding of God’s Word.
• Actively engage with both the church community and the Young Life community.
• Guide teams and individuals in their spiritual journeys.
• Regularly meet with volunteer leaders and area leadership.
• Recruit, train, supervise, develop, and assess area staff and volunteer leaders.
• Assemble leadership teams that reflect the diversity of the community.
• Demonstrate contact work, club activities, Campaigners, and camping practices to fellow leaders.
• Formulate annual ministry strategies and provide training for leaders, team leaders, and committees.
• Secure financial support and maintain effective donor care practices.
• Share ministry updates and progress with donor partners.
• Build and nurture relationships with principals, pastors, parents, and potential committee members.
• Organize and execute area fundraising events.
• Attend committee and adult gatherings and assist with TDS implementation.
• Lead teams in conducting Young Life clubs and Campaigners/discipleship programs.
• Implement strategies for summer and school-season camping.
• Serve at a Young Life camp each summer.
• Oversee financial management using mission-wide applications.
• Keep accurate records regarding kids, leaders, and donors.
• Provide professional communication to stakeholders in the ministry.
• Establish and evaluate annual strategic ministry plans and initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned that align with gifts, experience, and the needs of the area.
• Experience in direct ministry settings.
• Proven relational skills with both children and adults.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capacity to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to adapt to camp conditions, including heat, cold, dirt, long hours, hiking, horseback riding, and boating.
• Capability to minister to teenagers of military personnel.
• Commitment to Young Life’s Statement of Faith and adherence to required staff policies.
• Must profess faith in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.
• Must be prepared, willing, and able to fulfill necessary ministry functions.
• Must avoid behavior and statements that undermine Young Life’s biblical standards.
• Must comply with Young Life's policies and practices.
• A college degree is preferred.
• Core Training — Phase One, including New Staff Training, Leadership I, Leadership II, Apologetics, and one Winter Training course completed within the first two years.
• Regional training meetings and opportunities for ministry skills development.
• Summer assignment at a Young Life camp each year.
• Personal leadership growth.
• Spiritual development and training in ministry.
