This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the technical authority and main technical decision-making partner throughout enterprise sales processes from initial discovery to closure.
• Take ownership of Proof of Value success criteria and outcomes.
• Facilitate architecture-level discussions with teams focused on security, email, and identity.
• Conduct technical discovery sessions that reveal risks, not just requirements.
• Perform technical and competitive landscape analysis to address customer inquiries and objections.
• Respond to architecture-level questions and inquiries regarding modern threats.
• Clarify the reasons why traditional secure email gateways are ineffective against social engineering and identity-based attacks.
• Train sales executives and partners on Abnormal Security’s products, platform, and overall security posture.
• Promote customer satisfaction and ensure successful business results.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Sales Engineering or a comparable industry role.
• Capability to lead technical discovery and architectural discussions with teams in security, infrastructure, identity, and compliance.
• Excellent technical presentation and communication abilities, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in linking technology to quantifiable risk reduction and enterprise business outcomes.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders in security, IT, and executive roles.
• Competence in creating value-driven presentations using PowerPoint and Google Slides.
• Strong discovery skills to identify customer pain points, requirements, and strategic goals.
• Capacity to work autonomously in a dynamic, high-impact sales environment.
• A strong focus on customer needs and ownership of customer outcomes.
• Technical knowledge of SaaS security models, including multi-tenant cloud environments.
• Familiarity with DNS, TCP/IP, TLS, and enterprise networking concepts as they relate to email and SaaS security.
• Preferred: experience with enterprise email security platforms such as Proofpoint, Mimecast, Cisco, or Barracuda.
• Preferred: knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Online/Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
• Preferred: understanding of SMTP mail flow, MX records, mail routing, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, Azure AD/Entra ID/Google Identity, OAuth, REST APIs, SIEM platforms, SOC workflows, incident response workflows, and security certifications like CISSP or CEH.
