Middle School Science Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Delivers engaging and interactive synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.

• Dedicated to customizing learning pathways for all students.

• Holds a strong belief in every student's potential to achieve and meet high standards.

• Tailors instruction based on each student's level of understanding.

• Enhances course materials following established policies and procedures, utilizing suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools with guidance from the principal and coach.

• Manages the grade book to uphold student academic integrity, makes decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and notifies administrators of any concerns related to student performance and progress.

• Prepares students for significant standardized assessments.

• Establishes and nurtures positive relationships with families, ensuring timely communication and responsiveness to students and learning coaches/parents.

• Assists learning coaches/parents with student curriculum and instructional matters, along with basic troubleshooting within a virtual classroom environment, adhering to academy policies and procedures.

• Travels as necessary, averaging once a month and/or approximately 20% of the time, for in-person professional development, student assessments, and as required by the school.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.

• Active state teaching license.

• Capability to pass mandatory background checks.

• Experience working with the designated age group.

• Proficiency in supporting both adults and children with technology.

• Background in teaching in either an online (virtual) or traditional brick-and-mortar setting.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with other educators.
