This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Contribute to fostering a culture of success by providing support to the instructional program through asynchronous and synchronous teaching in whole group, small group, and one-on-one environments;
• Ensure timely completion of grading, lesson preparation, and communications with students and parents;
• Collaborate consistently with fellow educators (i.e., PLCs) to create and refine Personal Learning Plans, assess student performance, offer feedback on student work, and enhance instructional techniques and strategies;
• Acquire a broad understanding of the K-12 curriculum while developing an in-depth knowledge of the specific courses for which you are responsible;
• Analyze curriculum and create alternative methods for delivering lesson content aimed at improving student comprehension (engaging directly with students and parents);
• Assist students and parents by providing alternative strategies and support with daily assignments and projects;
• Maintain regular communication with parents and students through the Learning Management System and phone correspondence;
• Keep student records and data consistently updated, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance, and documentation of student and parent interactions;
• Collaborate with other educators, school staff, and the leadership team to create enrichment activities and modify student programs to enhance understanding and engagement;
• Partner with the Engagement and Counseling Departments to ensure timely and appropriate communication is provided to students and families, monitor student progress, and ensure that established goals are being achieved;
• Support Individualized Education Plans for students in the courses you oversee;
• Engage in ongoing professional development;
• Design and implement digital methods to foster a sense of "school community" in your courses;
• Collaborate with other educators and school staff to organize social activities and relevant field trips for students;
• Oversee field trips and strive to integrate these experiences into the curriculum;
• Participate in field trips and other community events organized for students and families;
• Take part in the planning and administration of State Assessments and other school events as assigned;
• Engage in student recruitment sessions and other marketing initiatives that require teacher involvement;
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Must be highly qualified and certified to teach Middle School and/or High School in Pennsylvania;
• Endorsements in EL or multiple subject areas are advantageous;
• Pennsylvania residency is required;
• Experience teaching in a cyber learning environment is a plus;
• Strong technological proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office and Google Suite;
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Highly organized and dependable;
• Student-focused approach;
• High level of adaptability and flexibility;
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment;
• Demonstrated history of being a team player;
• Willingness to travel for state assessments, school events, and marketing activities (may involve overnight travel);
• Availability to work occasional evening hours as needed to support students and families;
• Capability to work effectively in a remote setting.
