This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, organize, and deliver daily online instruction for designated courses and grade levels.
• Facilitate live virtual classes and guide students through learning activities.
• Establish an online classroom atmosphere that fosters curiosity, respect, and academic excellence.
• Implement online instructional routines, procedures, and strategies to enhance learning and engagement.
• Monitor student participation and academic progress across live and asynchronous platforms.
• Provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments.
• Assist struggling students through small-group instruction, tutoring, and office hours.
• Offer accommodations and support tailored to individual student needs for success.
• Promote strong study habits and intellectual curiosity among students.
• Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress, engagement, and assignment submissions.
• Address family inquiries in a professional and prompt manner.
• Collaborate with parents to support student learning and accountability.
• Assess student work and deliver constructive feedback.
• Keep timely and accurate grading and records within the learning management system.
• Monitor academic performance and analyze assessment data to identify areas for growth.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues on curriculum implementation and instructional enhancement.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school initiatives.
• Provide updates for SPED scholars and attend ARD meetings as scheduled.
• Collaborate with school leadership to promote student success and a positive school culture.
• Engage in school-sponsored clubs, extracurricular programs, competitions, community events, and enrichment activities.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Valid teaching certification is preferred.
• 2–5 years of teaching experience, ideally in elementary or lower school education.
• Experience with classical education or liberal arts curriculum is preferred.
• Experience in online or blended learning environments is preferred.
• Strong grasp of effective teaching practices for elementary-aged students.
• Ability to engage young learners while maintaining a structured, supportive learning environment.
• Proficient with online learning platforms, video conferencing tools, and digital classroom resources.
• Capacity to adapt instructional strategies for virtual learning settings.
• Strong ability to cultivate positive relationships with students and families.
• Excellent professional communication skills.
• Deep commitment to the mission and philosophy of Great Hearts, along with a passion for classical education.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Must undergo Texas and Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance and background check; additional states may be required.
• Successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
• Ability to perform tasks including standing, sitting, repetitive hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching.
• May need to move or position equipment weighing up to 50 pounds approximately.
