This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Deliver designated course material in a virtual setting
• Offer instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process
• Customize learning experiences to accommodate individual student needs
• Track student performance using Stride K12’s learning management system
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to further educational progress toward set objectives
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities
• Differentiate teaching strategies based on student proficiency
• Enhance course materials with approved synchronous and asynchronous resources
• Manage the grade book and uphold student academic integrity
• Make decisions regarding student placement and advancement
• Notify administrators regarding any issues related to student performance and progress
• Prepare students for critical standardized assessments
• Build and sustain positive relationships with families
• Communicate and respond promptly to students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curriculum and instructional challenges and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting
• Travel as necessary, averaging once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student assessments, and school events
• Required Michigan Teaching Certification
• Required Math certificate
• Must be a resident of Michigan
• Bachelor's degree
• Valid state teaching license
• Capability to pass the required background check
• Ability to work autonomously, typically exceeding 40 hours per week
• Capacity to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during working hours
• Experience working with the targeted age group
• Experience assisting adults and children with technology use
• Experience in online/virtual teaching and/or in traditional classroom settings
• Familiarity with online learning platforms
• Skill in interpreting and producing numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data
• Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow educators
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and proficiency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
