Middle School Math Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Instruct math classes in an engaging, clear, and student-focused manner

• Implement lessons utilizing Think Academy’s curriculum, lesson resources, and instructional guidance

• Assist students in developing a solid comprehension of math subjects such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2

• Oversee a virtual or in-person classroom, fostering a positive and high-expectation learning atmosphere

• Evaluate homework and provide prompt academic feedback

• Professionally communicate with students and parents regarding progress, performance, and academic objectives

• Engage in teacher training, lesson planning, and continuous professional development

• Work approximately 30–40 hours per week, primarily during weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress

• Strong foundational knowledge in math and comfort with middle school math topics or higher

• A genuine passion for teaching and fostering student development

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Commitment to at least one semester with a fixed teaching schedule (Fall semester concludes in Dec. 2026)

• Availability to work during weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends

• Experience in tutoring, mentoring, coaching, camp teaching, classroom instruction, or working with students is advantageous

• Background in math competitions (such as AMC or similar experiences) is a plus, though not mandatory

• Willingness to attend a 5-day on-site training (paid) in San Jose, CA as part of the onboarding process
