This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Provide dynamic and interactive synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for middle school English students.
• Tailor learning and differentiate instruction according to student mastery.
• Enhance course materials using authorized synchronous and asynchronous tools.
• Manage the grade book and ensure the integrity of student academic work.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.
• Track student performance and progress, informing administrators of any concerns.
• Prepare students for essential standardized tests.
• Foster positive relationships with families and maintain communication with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curriculum, instructional guidance, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting.
• Oversee student progress through Stride K12's learning management system.
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, school events, and additional school obligations.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Active state teaching license.
• Valid state Department of Education Middle School (5-8) English Teaching Certification.
• If currently certified in another state, proof of New Mexico license application within 7 days of the start date and an approved New Mexico teaching license within 90 days of the start date.
• Ability to pass the required background check.
• Capability to work independently, generally 40+ hours per week.
• Ability to maintain a professional and distraction-free home office during working hours.
• Experience with the targeted age group.
• Background in supporting both adults and children with technology.
• Experience teaching in an online/virtual setting and/or in a traditional classroom environment.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms.
• Proficient in interpreting and generating numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data.
• Ability to utilize student data to inform instructional choices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Quick to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Ability to maintain teacher certification and professional development hours, as well as fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
