This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Deliver designated course content in a virtual setting
• Provide guidance, instruction, and support while overseeing the learning process
• Prioritize individual student needs and track progress using Stride K12’s learning management system
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to facilitate learning towards set objectives
• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
• Tailor learning and adjust instruction based on student proficiency
• Enhance course materials using suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion while notifying administrators about performance issues
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Build positive relationships with families and maintain communication with students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curriculum, instructional matters, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student testing, and other school obligations
• Alabama Computer Science Certification
• Residency in Alabama
• Bachelor's degree
• Valid state teaching license
• Ability to pass required background checks
• Capable of working independently, typically 40+ hours per week
• Ability to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during work hours
• Experience with the designated age group
• Experience assisting both adults and children in using technology
• Experience in teaching online/virtually and/or in traditional classroom settings
• Familiarity with online learning platforms
• Ability to interpret and present numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data
• Proficient in using student data to guide instructional choices
• Ability to collaborate with fellow educators
• Competence in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
• Openness to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers
• Willingness to embrace change and adapt to ensure outstanding student outcomes
