This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Create an educational environment that allows students to realize their full potential in intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth.
• Design and execute an instructional program that enables students to achieve academic success in line with FLVS and state regulations.
• Develop, prepare, and carry out instructional activities that foster a setting where students are actively involved in meaningful learning experiences.
• Identify, select, create, and adapt instructional resources to cater to the diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs of students.
• Assist in evaluating evolving curricular needs and propose strategies for enhancement.
• Maintain effective and efficient record-keeping practices.
• Provide a supportive environment that encourages students to engage actively in the learning process.
• Communicate with students, parents, and both internal and external professionals within set timelines.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve the instructional environment for students by engaging in activities such as team teaching, meetings, staff development, communities of practice, and various committees.
• Exemplify professional and ethical standards in interactions with students, parents, peers, and community members.
• Ensure continuous and appropriate student growth and achievement for the relevant age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
• Establish and sustain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, schools, and colleagues, as measured by FLVS district/school survey results.
• Meet specific course and overall school student performance objectives.
• Show improvements in student performance.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in the assigned content area OR evidence of active enrollment in a state-approved EPI or MAT program AND either a valid Florida state-issued Statement of Eligibility OR a valid Temporary Certificate in the assigned content area.
• Endorsements as mandated by the Florida Department of Education.
• Preferred three years of teaching experience.
• Working knowledge of the Internet and web-related technologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
• Proven ability to collaborate on group projects and function effectively as part of a team.
• Must be responsible, accountable, and self-motivated.
• Demonstrated strong work ethic aimed at achieving school objectives.
• Exhibit effective prioritization, organization, and time-management skills; capable of meeting stringent deadlines.
• Ability to learn and utilize all necessary and recommended FLVS computer applications to ensure efficiency and consistency in internal workflows and instructional practices.
• Proven ability to effectively support the FLVS core competencies, values, and expectations for student-centered behaviors.
