This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.
• Engage with business stakeholders to elicit requirements and develop solutions that adhere to engineering standards while addressing business needs.
• Architect, implement, and oversee Red Hat OpenShift clusters in both on-premises (physical and virtualized) settings.
• Assume responsibility for systems engineering projects pertaining to OpenShift infrastructure.
• Work in conjunction with development teams to containerize applications and enhance deployment and release processes.
• Construct and sustain CI/CD pipelines utilizing OpenShift and relevant DevOps tools.
• Automate operational and deployment activities through Ansible and additional scripting tools.
• Execute patching and upgrades of OpenShift clusters, ArgoCD, GitLab CI, and related components while adhering to change-management protocols.
• Design, implement, and uphold backup, disaster recovery, and redundancy strategies.
• Participate in on-call/standby rotations to provide support for critical platform and infrastructure services, ensuring service continuity.
• Assist in daily operations, which includes trend analysis, root cause analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving platform issues to guarantee high availability and reliability.
• Apply and uphold security best practices, such as RBAC, vulnerability management, and compliance controls.
• Enhance alerting, monitoring, and observability capabilities across OpenShift and associated systems.
• Create and maintain current documentation, including architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and runbooks.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer, mentoring, and training for colleagues on OpenShift, GitLab, and related infrastructure technologies.
• 3+ years of pertinent professional experience or equivalent certifications (including Red Hat OpenShift), with a minimum of 4 years in IT infrastructure or platform engineering.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in deploying, operating, and maintaining OpenShift/Kubernetes platforms in enterprise or on-premise environments.
• Strong proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, especially with GitLab CI and/or Jenkins.
• Robust background in Linux system administration, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), encompassing the design and maintenance of enterprise Linux infrastructure.
• Practical knowledge of infrastructure automation using Ansible or similar tools.
• Scripting capabilities in Bash and/or Python for automation and operational tasks.
• Experience with GitOps methodologies and tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
• Skill in documenting architectures, configurations, and standards, along with developing and maintaining SOPs and technical documentation.
• Upper-intermediate level of English proficiency (both spoken and written).
• A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or Computer Science is advantageous.
