Middle Backend Engineer, Pensions & Transfer Team – Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain backend services using Python 3.11 with Django / DRF

• Streamline back-office processes and workflows in collaboration with Product, Compliance, and Business teams

• Challenge proposed solutions and assist in shaping the optimal solution prior to implementation

• Design and enhance REST APIs for both internal and external integrations

• Utilize MySQL and Redis to boost performance, reliability, and scalability

• Investigate production issues and resolve bottlenecks while minimizing technical debt

• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-making

• Enhance development processes and refine internal tools

• Uphold high standards for code quality, testing, and engineering practices

• Work with Git and CI/CD pipelines, including TeamCity and GitHub Actions

• Take ownership of problems from start to finish and drive solutions to production

• Collaborate with a streamlined engineering team without personnel management duties

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in backend development

• Proficient in Python with a solid understanding of Django or a comparable framework

• Strong knowledge of relational databases, caching, REST APIs, and service design

• Experience in troubleshooting production issues

• Ability to independently manage tasks from initiation to completion

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD methodologies, and modern development workflows

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

• Proficient in English at a B2 level or above

• Fluent in Russian

• Nice to have: experience in fintech, regulated sectors, or internal B2B tools

• Nice to have: knowledge of AWS and Docker

• Nice to have: experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka

• Nice to have: contributions to open-source projects or personal side projects
