This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Create and manage instrument datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, control narratives, logic diagrams, cause-and-effect documentation, and panel documentation.
• Assist with PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA, SIS, alarm, interlock, data acquisition, and controls integration tasks.
• Evaluate vendor submissions, instrument packages, control panel documents, factory acceptance test protocols, software configuration documents, and commissioning outputs.
• Aid in loop checks, calibrations, functional testing, integrated system testing, troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, and turnover processes.
• Collaborate on I&C interfaces with process engineering, piping, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, cybersecurity, safety basis, quality, construction, maintenance, and operations teams.
• Assist with field walkdowns, resolving installation issues, managing design change packages, and conducting technical assessments.
• Ensure configuration control of I&C deliverables and verify that design outputs conform to specifications, standards, and project requirements.
• Clearly communicate technical issues and support timely completion of controls deliverables.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, controls engineering, chemical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Over 5 years of experience in I&C engineering, controls integration, automation, testing, commissioning, nuclear, DOE, chemical, high-hazard, or regulated industrial environments.
• Practical experience with instrument datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams, controls integration, testing, commissioning, and vendor collaboration.
• Familiarity with field instrumentation, wiring, PLC/DCS interfaces, alarms, interlocks, calibration, loop checks, and functional testing.
• Capability to interpret P&IDs, control narratives, logic diagrams, specifications, vendor data, and field conditions.
• Excellent troubleshooting, technical writing, communication, and cross-functional coordination abilities.
• Ability to secure and maintain necessary site access, training, and security clearances.
• Due to government contract obligations and clearance requirements, US citizenship is mandatory.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with nuclear fuel facilities, hot cells, gloveboxes, GTS, chemical process controls, hazardous locations, or safety-related controls.
• Familiarity with control platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Emerson, Honeywell, Yokogawa, Schneider, GE, Wonderware, Ignition, or similar systems.
• Engineer-in-Training certification, Professional Engineer license, ISA training, or commissioning experience.
• Active DOE L or Q clearance.
