Mid-Level ML/AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Aid in the implementation of AI agents that integrate retrieval, structured reasoning, and secure action execution, adhering to established security protocols and guidelines.

• Contribute to the development of evaluation frameworks, retrieval pipelines, and prompt testing for both open-source and foundational LLMs.

• Assist in linking agents to observability, incident management, and deployment systems.

• Support the creation of diagnostic scripts and remediation runbooks under supervision.

• Collaborate with senior engineers to transform documented production challenges into clearly defined, testable engineering tasks.

• Execute validation checks, deterministic fallbacks, and rollback logic as specified by senior engineers.

• Facilitate continuous evaluation instrumentation.

• Assist with prompt engineering, caching, and batching enhancements under guidance to achieve defined SLOs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Familiarity with AWS services (ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB).

• Proficient in at least one relevant programming language (Python, C/C++, Go, Java), with a preference for hands-on Python experience.

• Experience in contributing to production ML systems (deployment/serving, evaluation, monitoring, data pipelines, and fine-tuning workflows) under senior guidance.

• Basic understanding of LLM API integration, prompt engineering, and RAG concepts.

• Fundamental awareness of both commercial and open-source LLMs and their functionalities (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini, Llama, Qwen, Claude).

• Strong grounding in applied statistics, core ML concepts, algorithms, and data structures.

• Advanced/Fluent English proficiency.

• Exposure to infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation).

• Increasing familiarity with tool-using agents.
