Mid-Level Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Data Collection: Gather information from diverse internal and external sources, adhering to established protocols and suggesting enhancements when appropriate.

• Data Preparation: Carry out data cleaning, transformation, and integration processes to guarantee data quality and consistency with minimal oversight.

• Project Support: Work collaboratively with colleagues on the creation and upkeep of data pipelines, assuming greater responsibilities and leading smaller subprojects.

• Process Documentation: Contribute significantly to the documentation of data engineering processes by recording procedures and workflows, ensuring they are kept current.

• Exploratory Data Analysis: Perform preliminary data analyses to uncover patterns, trends, and insights relevant to the business with increased independence.

• Query Support: Execute advanced SQL queries and retrieve data from relational databases, providing technical assistance to the team.

• Quality Monitoring: Actively oversee data quality, pinpoint and resolve discrepancies, and propose enhancements to quality control measures.

• Continuous Learning: Engage in and contribute to training and development initiatives, while mentoring junior team members.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless data integration into solutions and systems, offering specialized knowledge.

• Meeting Deadlines: Organize tasks and ensure their completion within set timelines, proactively informing team leadership of any challenges or obstacles.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in data engineering (data pipelines, processing, data modeling).

• Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and manipulation.

• Proficiency in Python for scripting and developing data pipelines.

• Familiarity with cloud data environments (AWS).

• Interest in understanding the usage of data platforms and optimizing their functionality.

• Basic understanding of Data Lake, Data Warehouse, or Lakehouse concepts.

• Ability to analyze data to detect patterns, issues, or opportunities for improvement.

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
