Microsoft 365 Cloud Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Constructs the cloud application development and hosting platforms for Allstate.

• Takes ownership of, develops, implements, and manages Allstate’s Cloud platforms.

• Designs, builds, administers, and deploys self-service tools that empower Allstate developers to create, deploy, and manage cloud-native applications.

• Serves as a knowledge anchor for the systems they oversee and manage.

• Exhibits leadership in engineering and the development of new platforms, products, and cloud services.

• Guides the team to ensure adherence to SLAs.

• Enhances the efficiency of both the system and the team responsible for its operation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred 7 or more years of experience.

• In-depth understanding of Microsoft Entra ID and its connections with Azure and M365.

• Profound knowledge of Azure Management Groups and Policy.

• Comprehensive understanding of Azure Regions, Availability Zones, VNets, Private Endpoints, and Express Route.

• At least 5 years of experience with Azure Cloud Services.

• Familiarity with GCP services such as Compute, IAM, Networking, and image management.

• Experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, and Application Knowledge.

• Proficient in testing and programming.

• Capability to mentor team members on various engineering practices, including extreme programming, product mindset, cloud/as-a-service approach, and infrastructure as code.

• Strong background in Software Development/Projects and in building Cloud (Azure) Solutions.

• Willingness and ability to implement necessary changes in infrastructure and processes.

• Capacity to work in an Extreme Programming environment and must be open to paired programming/engineering models.

• Skilled in facilitating diverse teams, multitasking, and working under pressure to achieve tight schedules.

• Effective in collaborating across organizational and geographical boundaries.

• Proficient in identifying creative solutions for technical support challenges.

• Capable of communicating effectively with groups from diverse backgrounds.

• Ability to present ideas and solutions clearly to various audience levels.
