This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the implementation and ensure technical excellence across cloud platform initiatives.
• Establish infrastructure standards, perform design and code reviews, and provide guidance on architectural choices.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to shape the cloud platform roadmap.
• Promote a culture centered around ownership, quality, automation, and continuous enhancement.
• Architect, construct, and manage scalable AWS infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure as Code.
• Develop and sustain Kubernetes-based platforms, including EKS, and facilitate container workflows for application teams.
• Create self-service tools and streamlined processes that empower teams to deploy and manage services securely.
• Ensure the platform consistently supports both application and data workloads effectively.
• Design platform functionalities with a focus on reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Enhance cloud systems for performance, scalability, resilience, and cost-effectiveness.
• Detect and mitigate infrastructure bottlenecks, scaling limitations, and reliability vulnerabilities.
• Establish reliability protocols, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and incident response strategies.
• Advance observability, maintainability, and operational readiness across cloud platform services.
• Collaborate with backend, SRE, data, autonomy, and security teams to deliver integrated platform features.
• Support comprehensive system design from edge devices to cloud infrastructure.
• Coordinate with various teams to develop and uphold release procedures and CI/CD pipelines.
• Assist in aligning platform functionalities with product, engineering, security, and mission requirements.
• Implement secure cloud practices, such as IAM least privilege, secrets management, encryption, and network segmentation.
• Uphold high standards for automation, testing, observability, documentation, and infrastructure reliability.
• Advocate for a DevSecOps culture by integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and the software development lifecycle.
• Enforce cloud security measures, vulnerability management, and continuous compliance monitoring.
• Ensure adherence to compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and DoD Impact Levels, including IL4 and IL5.
• Design systems with a focus on security, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Over 6 years of experience in cloud platforms, infrastructure, DevOps, or equivalent engineering roles.
• Extensive knowledge of AWS core services, including compute, networking, storage, IAM, and managed data services.
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code.
• Practical experience managing Kubernetes, including EKS, and containerized environments.
• Significant experience in constructing CI/CD pipelines and automating deployments.
• Proficient in Go, Python, or similar programming languages for platform tooling and automation.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, distributed systems, and best practices in cloud security, including identity, encryption, and network security.
• Capability to drive projects from conception through to production.
• Strong technical judgment and the ability to work independently in dynamic environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance if necessary.
