Metal Building Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Analyze bid specifications and architectural drawings to gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.

• Carefully review all drawings and specifications, pinpointing potential discrepancies or areas needing further clarification. Maintain ongoing communication with relevant teams to ensure full comprehension.

• Collaborate with District Sales Managers and Project Managers to offer essential technical and pricing support for project acquisition.

• Prepare and present detailed quotes and contract documents, clearly defining the scope of work, exclusions, and qualifications.

• Participate in design reviews, cost evaluations, and scope assessments to ensure alignment with project objectives and company standards.

• Gather and assess buy-outs from subcontractors and vendors, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all project aspects.

• Keep informed about industry trends and technological developments, contributing to the continuous enhancement of estimating practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent; some college education is preferred.

• Prior experience in the Metal Building Industry is essential.

• Detail-oriented in reviewing and interpreting project documents.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to articulate ideas and inquiries professionally.

• Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively within a team, promoting a cooperative environment.

• Motivated by a goal-oriented approach with a dedication to surpassing company and departmental goals.

• Willingness to put in extra hours when required to meet business needs.

• Exhibits a proactive stance towards personal and professional development.

• Proficiency in Metal Building Software (MBS) is mandatory.

• Strong skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Solid foundational knowledge of fractions, decimals, and basic geometry.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings accurately.

• Skilled in identifying exclusions or qualifications in project specifications.

• Comfortable drafting contractual language to clearly define the scope of work.
