MES Systems Analyst – PLM Process Planning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• This individual will participate in designing, developing, enhancing, and implementing software solutions within Pratt & Whitney’s Center of Excellence (COE) for enterprise Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), along with integrations with other enterprise products for our internal Operations customers.

• This role involves troubleshooting software application issues, addressing systems integration and compatibility challenges, and overseeing the software development lifecycle.

• The specific focus areas include process planning and manufacturing execution, along with integration to Pratt and Whitney’s Teamcenter PLM in conjunction with our MES enterprise solutions and SAP ERP. Current strategic efforts involve supporting existing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and MRO solutions, transformative growth for the MES roadmap, and deploying next-generation solutions for OEM and MRO programs, implementing new sites, and integrating new technologies for IIOT and Industry 4.0.

• Bridging the gaps between business processes and PLM functionalities and capabilities.

• Overseeing the implementation and optimization of PLM tools, including but not limited to Siemens Teamcenter, Easy Plan, Manufacturing Process Planner (MPP), Teamcenter Quality, and BCT Inspector.

• Driving the integration of PLM solutions with other business systems such as ERP, MES, and CAD to facilitate a seamless digital thread across the enterprise.

• Acting as the subject matter expert in Teamcenter Business Modeler IDE, leading the configuration and customization of workflows, data models, and process automation to enhance manufacturing operations.

• Staying updated on emerging manufacturing trends, including Industry 4.0, additive manufacturing, automation, and digital twins, and identifying opportunities to incorporate these technologies into our PLM processes.

• Translating customer requirements into solution designs.

• Engaging in technical and functional problem-solving.

• Managing tasks with strong follow-up discipline.

• Meeting all budget, deliverable, and schedule targets.

• Providing production and end-user support for PLM Process Planning solutions.

• Supporting integration with other enterprise solutions.

• Collaborating with internal customers and external suppliers and business partners to architect and build system solutions that utilize the latest technologies to meet requirements.

• Managing suppliers and partners to schedule and status resources necessary for solution development and implementation.

• Working on multiple projects concurrently with regular reporting in a gated process.

• Authoring and/or contributing to system functional requirements, technical design documentation, and test plans.

• Ensuring compliance with RTX / PW policies and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, Engineering, or a related field and 8+ years of experience in Computer Science, MIS, Business, Engineering, or a related area; OR an Advanced Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of experience in Computer Science, MIS, Business, Engineering, or a related area.

• U.S. Citizenship is required (due to Government contractual obligations).

• 3+ years of experience in PLM disciplines including, but not limited to, process planning and authoring.

• In-depth understanding of Teamcenter PLM authoring and process planning (EasyPlan & MPP).

• Familiarity with other manufacturing solutions (Solumina and OpCenter).

• Ability to convert business requirements into functional specifications.

• Capability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals and clarify functional requirements to technical developers.

• Quick adaptability to existing system capabilities and structure.

• Previous experience in software development (C#, .NET, JAVA, SQL, etc.) - though development is not the primary responsibility.

• Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of tracing issues.

• Strong communication skills.

• Team player with excellent follow-up skills and the ability to cultivate positive relationships.

• Sound judgment and professional maturity.

• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Exceptional communication abilities with both technical and non-technical audiences.
