This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute comprehensive KYB reviews for potential merchants, ensuring that onboarding documentation is thorough, precise, and adheres to compliance standards.
• Assess and validate business registration documents, Articles of Incorporation, EIN and Tax ID records, proof of address, and relevant corporate documentation.
• Identify and confirm Ultimate Beneficial Owners, examining ownership structures, conducting sanctions screenings, and checking against OFAC, EU, and UN watchlists, as well as PEP evaluations.
• Conduct investigations into adverse media, reputation, and open-source information related to businesses, founders, and key personnel.
• Analyze customer reviews across platforms such as Trustpilot, BBB, Reddit, Discord, X, and other public channels.
• Assess merchant business models concerning payment facilitation, nested merchants, undisclosed third-party fund movements, and prohibited activities.
• Review chargeback history, processor relationships, fraud indicators, and participation in card network monitoring programs.
• Cross-reference findings from G2 Risk Solutions and other third-party intelligence platforms with internal data and investigate any discrepancies.
• Compile case documentation and escalate complex or high-risk issues to Underwriting, Compliance, or Legal teams.
• Generate and maintain monthly merchant reports for partners, including Worldpay and PPRO.
• Continuously enhance KYB workflows, documentation standards, and operational processes.
• Over 5 years of experience in KYB, KYC, AML, merchant onboarding, payments compliance, fraud investigations, or financial crime.
• Background in a fintech, payment processor, PSP, Merchant of Record, acquiring bank, or regulated financial services setting.
• Proficient in conducting business verifications, UBO validation, sanctions screenings, adverse media evaluations, and enhanced due diligence.
• Strong investigative and research capabilities using corporate registries, public records, and open-source intelligence.
• Capacity to review corporate filings, legal documents, bank statements, business websites, and financial records, identifying inconsistencies and risk signals.
• Solid understanding of merchant risk, payment flows, and fraud typologies within card payments and digital commerce.
• Ability to navigate situations with incomplete information, apply sound judgment, and escalate complex findings appropriately.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accompanied by strong written documentation and case management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience with high-risk merchant categories such as gaming, sweepstakes, digital goods, subscription services, or marketplaces is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with Visa and Mastercard merchant onboarding requirements, MCC classifications, and chargeback monitoring programs is a plus.
• Proficiency with Persona and G2 Risk Solutions is beneficial.
• Experience in a startup or high-growth fintech environment is highly preferred.
