Merchandise Planner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create and uphold merchandise financial plans categorized by season, channel, and store.

• Predict sales, margins, and inventory objectives utilizing historical data and market trends.

• Work closely with buying teams to develop assortments that align with brand strategy and customer preferences.

• Oversee inventory levels and suggest replenishment strategies.

• Collaborate with allocation teams to enhance product distribution across various stores and channels.

• Identify slow-moving products and recommend strategies for markdowns, promotions, or reallocations.

• Evaluate sell-through rates, turnover, margins, and ROI metrics.

• Compile weekly and monthly business reviews and present findings to cross-functional teams.

• Assist in pricing and promotional strategies aimed at maximizing profitability.

• Partner with merchandising, marketing, supply chain, and store operations teams.

• Offer planning insights for product launches, seasonal campaigns, and new store openings.

• Relay inventory risks and opportunities to leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Finance, or a related discipline.

• 3–5 years of experience in merchandise planning, ideally within specialty retail.

• Strong capability to analyze data and forecast trends.

• Comprehensive understanding of specialty retail dynamics and consumer behavior.

• Effective and collaborative communication across various departments.

• Proficient in advanced Excel skills.

• Familiarity with planning tools such as JDA, SAP, or Oracle.

• Experience with omnichannel retail and inventory optimization tools is advantageous.

• Ability to effectively balance immediate needs with long-term business objectives.
