Mental Health Therapist, Bilingual French

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Provide EFAP and other designated clinical services, which include confidential counseling, case management, direct clinical services, and assessments.

• Perform telephonic assessments via queue calls and Meet Now for behavioral, emotional health, family, wellness, work, and personal issues, including crisis situations.

• Equip clients with actionable, self-implementable strategies.

• Receive case assignments, formulate treatment plans, complete progress notes, and determine case closure in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.

• Create client-specific action plans under regular supervision.

• Conduct thorough psychosocial and risk assessments.

• Assist in suicide prevention and other risk management interventions.

• Document intervention notes and tracking records.

• Uphold established service levels and direct service targets.

• Coordinate with the Stay at Work Clinical Management team and work with colleagues to ensure timely service delivery.

• Facilitate workshops as needed, depending on competencies and availability.

• Offer Crisis Management Services on an as-needed basis.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology.

• Registration in good standing with a relevant governing body as a Social Worker, Psychotherapist, Marriage & Family Therapist, or Canadian Certified Counselor.

• 2–3 years of clinical experience addressing a range of mental health and situational issues.

• Background in solution-oriented and/or cognitive behavioral short-term therapies.

• Proficiency in English is mandatory.

• Proficiency in French is considered an asset.

• Previous experience with crisis hotlines, telephonic counseling, and/or EFAP is preferred.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills along with active listening abilities.

• Competence in risk assessment, online research, and identifying emergency and/or community resources across Canada.

• Strong client service skills and proficiency in phone-based service delivery.

• Flexible and creative approach to single-session counseling.

• Awareness of measurement-based care; related experience is an asset.

• Ability to support, communicate, and/or collaborate with both French- and English-speaking clients and/or colleagues across the country.
