Mental Health Therapist, Bilingual French

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Provide EFAP services along with other designated clinical services.

• Offer confidential counseling, case management, direct clinical services, and assessments.

• Perform telephonic assessments related to behavioral, emotional health, family, wellness, work, and personal issues, including crisis scenarios.

• Deliver practical strategies for clients.

• Accept case assignments, create treatment plans, finalize progress notes, and determine case closure in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.

• Develop action plans with clients under consistent supervision.

• Conduct thorough psycho-social assessments as necessary.

• Execute risk assessments and facilitate suicide or other risk-prevention interventions.

• Document intervention notes and maintain tracking records.

• Uphold established service levels and direct service objectives.

• Consult with the Stay at Work Clinical Management team and work in conjunction with colleagues.

• Facilitate workshops as required.

• Provide Crisis Management Services as needed.

• Work hours are Tuesday to Saturday, from 11pm to 7am EST.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Counselling, Social Work, or Psychology.

• Registration in good standing with the relevant governing body as a Social Worker, Psychotherapist, Marriage & Family Therapist, or Canadian Certified Counsellor.

• 2–3 years of clinical experience addressing a range of mental health and situational challenges.

• Background in solution-focused and/or cognitive behavioral short-term therapies is preferred.

• Experience with crisis hotlines, telephonic counseling, and/or EFAP is advantageous.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication and active listening abilities.

• Proficiency in English is required; French language skills are a plus.

• Competent in risk assessment, online research, and identifying emergency and/or community resources across Canada.

• Demonstrates empathy towards client concerns with outstanding customer service, both in person and via phone.

• Adaptable with a creative approach to single-session counseling.

• Familiarity with measurement-based care; experience in this area is an asset.
