📋 Description

• The Member Recruitment & Event Coordinator, also referred to internally as the Member Recruitment Coordinator (MRC), is responsible for educating, engaging, and motivating the public to support and participate in the mission through presentations, awareness events, celebrations, and the execution of registry recruitment events.

• Key duties involve cultivating and maintaining relationships to encourage committed individuals to join the NMDP registry.

• Develops, fosters, and nurtures connections within ethnically diverse communities, including community leaders, community-based organizations, media, businesses, and local contacts, to plan and coordinate community engagement and recruitment initiatives.

• Communicates effectively through both public speaking and written formats to promote the NMDP mission within the local community, aiming to boost participation among new, diverse registry members, volunteers, and philanthropic contributors.

• Actively seeks to identify and propose innovative practices for community engagement and registry recruitment, providing timely feedback to account managers and marketing leaders.

• Works in collaboration with account managers and marketing teams to develop an engagement and recruitment strategy plan each fiscal year, ensuring the accomplishment of diverse goals and targets.

• Plans, organizes, and executes mission-driven events (both live and digital) to guarantee an excellent experience for registry members and outstanding customer service to community partners and sponsors.

• Educates potential volunteer donors about NMDP's mission, including the donation process and expectations for registry members, ensuring that new members are well-informed and ready to commit if asked to donate.

• Develops an annual activity plan featuring specific rotations at each targeted college campus, meeting established goals and targets focused on committed, diverse recruitment strategies. Keeps leadership updated on progress toward these goals and targets.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.

• Experience as a marrow or PBSC donor, or having a direct connection to the mission, is advantageous.

• A minimum of two years of experience in sales, business or community development, client account management, and event planning and implementation, where specific goals or targets are established.

• Knowledge of:

• Sales and Marketing

• Volunteer management

• Developing in-market strategies and generating leads

• Planning and executing events

• Ability to:

• Navigate college and university systems, including athletics, diverse affinity groups, student government, Greek organizations, etc.

• Network and build community partnerships within ethnically diverse communities.

• Utilize social media effectively.

• Proactively leverage digital marketing in collaboration with the donor marketing team to enhance recruitment efforts.

• Influence and engage with others effectively.

• Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Demonstrate strong public speaking and presentation capabilities.

• Employ effective organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Be self-motivated and driven by goals.

• Proficiently use Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Salesforce, and the Internet.

• Bi-lingual language skills may be required based on the location of the position.

• Must possess a desire to learn and be willing to travel within the region as necessary (25%-50%), and work evenings and weekends. Occasional national travel may be required, totaling 3-4 trips per year.
