Member of Engineering – Design Engineer, Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the product vision in 0-to-1 scenarios, defining what Poolside should develop and transforming ambiguous challenges into clear, actionable directions.

• Drive design, experimentation, and proof-of-concepts that investigate future possibilities for developer tools, providing insights that inform the product roadmap.

• Collaborate with Product Engineering to transition ideas from concept to delivered product, engaging at both strategic and detailed levels.

• Rapidly prototype and validate concepts early; you are equally adept with code as you are with design tools.

• Work alongside designers and the broader design team to ensure that product thinking remains consistent and well-supported across all of Poolside's platforms.

• Influence how Poolside presents itself externally as a product, including the initial interactions developers have with our work.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong product intuition with a proven track record of defining not just how to build, but what to build.

• A genuine background in coding: experience with scripts, tools, and personal projects developed from the ground up.

• Familiarity with developer workflows, including version control, local environments, command line usage, and deployment pipelines.

• Extensive experience specifically in designing for developer tools, rather than general consumer or enterprise products.

• Excellent visual skills; you deliver polished, high-quality user interfaces and maintain a high standard throughout the entire product experience.

• Proficient in rapid prototyping, research, and developing proof-of-concepts.

• Highly autonomous: you establish your own direction, communicate your thought process effectively, and make sound decisions in uncertain environments.
