This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Facilitate the safe and effective utilization of medications throughout Psychiatry UK.
• Offer clinical, operational, and governance assistance under the guidance of the Lead Pharmacist.
• Play a role in ensuring medication safety, prescribing quality, and adherence to regulatory standards within the organization.
• Aid in the formulation, execution, and assessment of the medicines optimization strategy.
• Assist in reviewing and monitoring prescribing practices to guarantee compliance with laws and organizational guidelines.
• Help manage incidents and complaints related to medications.
• Contribute to the evaluation of prescribing trends and the escalation of potential risks to the Lead Pharmacist.
• Support responses to MHRA Drug Alerts and Medicines Recalls.
• Assist in managing medication shortages, including conducting risk assessments and identifying suitable alternatives.
• Serve as a point of contact with expert knowledge to address inquiries related to prescribing and medicines management from other healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with partner organizations and healthcare stakeholders to ensure the safe and effective provision of pharmaceutical care.
• Assist in addressing external medication-related inquiries.
• Participate in audit, quality improvement, and data support for medicines-related audit initiatives.
• Maintain and enhance advanced clinical pharmacy knowledge to promote safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
• Possess a Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree and have completed one year of pre-registration training.
• Be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Demonstrate the capacity to cultivate strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
• Communicate with patients, families, and caregivers in an engaging, compassionate, and caring manner.
• The ideal candidate will be adaptable to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
• Capable of working independently while taking ownership of tasks and projects.
• Apply critical thinking skills to address complex problems.
• Collaborate effectively with fellow colleagues.
• Have relevant experience in mental health to manage complex medication issues and inquiries.
• Understand relevant legislation, risk management, and best practices in prescribing and medicines management.
• Have experience in conducting clinical audits and data analysis.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team is essential.
• Possess advanced digital skills, particularly in using Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
