This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Assists in the efficient management of the revenue cycle process
• Guarantees the precise and timely collection of sales from third-party payers
• Collaborates with insurance providers, clients, and customers to resolve collection challenges
• Reconciles accounts as necessary
• Manages assigned accounts to ensure accurate and prompt billing, collections, and payment activities
• Confirms that a claim is properly filed
• Follows up with payers regarding outstanding payments
• Investigates claim denials
• Coordinates with billers to resolve billing discrepancies
• Works with funding consultants to clarify documentation issues
• Prepares correspondence to contest account payments
• Reviews posted payments for correctness and probes discrepancies
• Records all verbal and written communications related to collection efforts in the system
• Conducts follow-ups every 30 days with insurance companies, clients, SPLs, and vendors to ensure timely payments
• Notifies the Manager of Collections about potential payment concerns
• Suggests adjustments/write-offs to the Manager of Collections
• Investigates refund requests related to accounts
• Keeps updated on state, federal, and third-party funding regulations for assigned accounts
• High School Diploma
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in computer use, accounting, collections, and high-volume medical billing and/or insurance claims processing
• Familiarity with the payment posting process concerning contractual adjustments and refunds preferred
• Understanding of medical insurance claims procedures and documentation preferred
• Strong customer service and interpersonal abilities
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Team collaboration skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Capability to research claim information online
• Basic data entry and word processing skills
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and handle confidential information
• Skill in gathering data and summarizing information
