This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Direct therapeutically aligned initiatives to establish strategic objectives and tactics for National Accounts and prioritized regional accounts.
• Build and sustain professional relationships with targeted payer, pathways, GPO, trade, and specialty pharmacy population health decision-makers.
• Integrate extensive value and total cost of care frameworks with the Field Medical organization.
• Facilitate strategic partnerships between targeted national and regional payer/pathways executives and senior Amgen leadership.
• Analyze customer insights to shape short- and long-term strategies and evidence generation plans.
• Act as the Medical Value & Access primary contact for US V&A, GV&A, Government Affairs, CfOR, and Scientific Communications.
• Engage in strategy discussions with Market Access & Trade for payer interactions.
• Spearhead internal training initiatives that promote comprehensive value across the integrated Field Medical team and Scientific Communications.
• Serve as the strategic point of contact in Oncology/Rare/Orphan Disease for assigned Commercial National and Regional account directors.
• Review and provide clinically relevant feedback on utilization, prior authorization, and criteria-for-use policies.
• Support managed care/payer advisory boards, congresses, and professional association meetings.
• Act as the principal Medical contact with Government Affairs on policy matters and legislation related to patient access and health outcomes.
• Promote awareness of HCEI communication principles and adherence to applicable SOPs.
• Travel is expected to be approximately 30%.
• Doctorate degree with 4 years of Medical Science Liaison and/or Payer/PBM experience, or a Master’s degree with 7 years of such experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 9 years of such experience.
• Preferred qualifications include a Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., D.O., or Master’s Degree; other doctoral and master’s degrees will also be considered.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Payer/PBM/Pathways/Trade/Specialty Pharmacy is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) is preferred.
• Proven track record of significant impact and rapport with payer accounts.
• Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to inspire, coach, and develop talent.
• Extensive knowledge of managed markets, pharmacoeconomics, population health, and healthcare policy/legislation trends.
• Exceptional strategic perspective, communication, and presentation abilities.
• Strong experience in collaboration with Medical and Commercial cross-functional teams.
• Approximately 30% travel is required.
